Bonner picks up the reigns to treat oral surgical patients with compassion, advanced training, and an impressive list of awards and accreditations. Dr. Robert B. Ioppolo and Dr. Hill have been running Hill & Ioppolo Oral and Facial Surgeons for years together and Dr. Bonner looks forward to continuing the level of standard they have set working alongside Dr. Ioppolo.
Dr. Bonner comes to Lubbock after, most recently, working as a staff surgeon at the Baylor Scott & White Level 1 Trauma Center, where he worked with all kinds of trauma-related surgical cases caused by car accidents, sporting injuries, domestic violence, and more. He has also been an adjunct assistant professor at Texas A&M University after working as an instructor of oral and maxillofacial surgery at University of the Pacific. His passion to further his and other's education is at the forefront of what drives him to be such an excellent oral surgeon, and his skills and determination are what made Dr. Ioppolo decide he was the perfect fit.
Dr. Bonner's education resume is impressive, completing his Bachelor of Science at West Texas A&M University before attending dental school at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School. He then completed his oral and maxillofacial certificate at University of the Pacific. He is excited to be back home in Texas after his time in California and is thrilled to be joining such an established and reputable practice.
Dr. Bonner is a Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, a Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, and is board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. In addition, he is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support for both adult and pediatric patients and in Advanced Trauma Life Support. Oral surgeons attend years of hospital-based residency on top of standard dental school, where they receive advanced training in the administration of anesthesia, which makes them the most qualified medical professional to perform oral surgery procedures, like wisdom teeth extractions and dental implants.
Hill & Ioppolo Oral & Facial Surgeons is known in the community for their charitable initiatives to help those less fortunate, promote education, and inspire better oral health practices. This fall, they launched their second annual Smiles For Soldiers program that gives deserving veterans and active duty soldiers brand-new smiles.
