Ricky Schroder is an American actor, film director, and producer who had made his acting debut, as a 9-year-old, in the neo-noir drama sports film titled The Champ (1979). He then became a household name in the United States for his portrayal of Ricky Stratton in the sitcom Silver Spoons (1982–1987). Ricky went on to act in films such as Too Young the Hero (1988), Crimson Tide (1995), The Lost Battalion (2001), and Black Cloud (2004). He is also well recognized for portraying characters such as Det. Danny Sorenson in the police procedural drama TV series NYPD Blue (1998–2001), Dr. Dylan West in the medical drama TV series Strong Medicine (2005–2006), and Mike Doyle in the action drama TV series 24 (2007).
