While once a narrative phenomenon that was reserved for the gaming population, The Last of Us has now succeeded in taking a much larger part of the world by storm thanks to HBO’s stellar and wildly successful adaptation of the original Naughty Dog video game from 2013.

You know, the last lovely part of the show before everything turned to caca. Well, that giraffe scene has now been immortalized on the side of a building in Brazil, with a twist – Joel and Ellie (Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey’s take on the characters) are depicted riding the giraffe.

While the pair spent their share of time astride a four-legged form of transportation, at no point did they ride a giraffe. They did feed one some leaves and gave it a pet, but at no point did they decide to replace their horse (RIP) with a long-necked camel. Still, there’s something quite beautiful about the artwork.
Any little bit of The Last of Us media, artwork or otherwise, can’t help but hype us up for the second season of the hit television series (except for that abysmal PC port of the first game, which we’d rather forget happened). While fans are likely still debating that morally conflicted ending, a recent fan theory on Reddit may have definitively proved that Joel was in the right all along.
